University of Michigan Indoor Track Building

Showcased at the center of the indoor facility is a hydraulic banked 200-meter competition track -- one of just seven such tracks hosted on university campuses anywhere in the country -- that puts the complex in line to host major national and international events. Surrounding that centerpiece is a three-lane 300-meter practice track, making it the only complex in the country with such a setup. The infield of the track features four jumps runways (two for horizontal events, two for pole vault), a shot put sector, space for the high jump and an auxiliary sprints straightaway, with a state-of-the-art throws area located on the facility's south end.

All of those areas are visible from the 2,000-spectator-capacity permanent bleachers running along the facility's east side, with the ability to accommodate up to 3,500 spectators for major events with the addition of temporary seating. Fans will also be able to follow the progress of events on the facility's large video board on its west wall.
