Whether you’re a die-hard Wolverine fan or just love beautiful spaces, there are plenty of reasons to hold your wedding at the University of Michigan. From historic to hip, the indoor and outdoor venues available on campus are perfect for groups large and small.
With several stunning spaces, Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum are natural choices for those who love the outdoors. At Matthaei, there are beautiful outdoor garden spaces for ceremonies and an indoor conservatory space as well. With a Bonsai Garden, Great Lakes Garden, Medicinal Garden and many more, Matthaei is the perfect space for a union in a natural setting. Reception space is available at Matthaei, as well!
Located near the beautiful U-M Central Campus, Nichols Arboretum is famous for its breathtaking peony gardens. Available for ceremonies only, “The Arb” is a quiet, intimate space for groups of up to 100 people, and features space along the Huron River and leafy, natural environment for unforgettable nuptials.
The U-M campus is especially picturesque, and the Michigan League is no exception. Located near downtown Ann Arbor, this historic space has both small and large rooms that are frequently and beautifully used for wedding receptions. For a classic, collegiate wedding, The Pendleton Room at the Michigan Union is a natural choice. Located in central U-M campus, the Union is a beautiful spot for photographs and a statement celebration.
Located adjacent to the aforementioned Michigan League, this historic gem of a theater is an unexpected spot for a beautiful ceremony. Home to artistic and cultural happenings such as instrumental music recitals, musical theatre productions and dance events, this is also a great place to start a life together.
With both expansive and intimate spaces, UMMA is a unique and sophisticated venue for an elegant wedding. Nuptials among great pieces of art, classic marble flooring and flattering light are truly special in this beloved U-M venue. Both ceremonies and receptions are available at this world-class art museum.
The historic UMMNH is an absolutely stunning and distinctive space in which to hold a wedding. The Rotunda’s high ceilings and marble detailing make for a beautiful reception venue, and the dinosaur, wildlife, geology and anthropology galleries are perfect for unique photos.
You don’t have to be a football fan to be impressed with Michigan Stadium. The largest of its kind in North America, “The Big House” is home to the famous Wolverine Football team, as well as the venue for two International Champions Cup soccer games, the 2014 NHL Winter Classic, and many other huge and epic events. The Block M at the 50-yard line is a magnificent place for wedding vows! For your reception, consider the Jack Roth Stadium Club or Regents Guest Area. If you’d just like to take photos at the Stadium, you can do that, too! Visit www.mgoblue.com for details.
