Last year’s football season lived up to the hype. Despite a few heartbreaking losses, the Wolverines under the leadership of Coach Harbaugh concluded the season with an inspiring demonstration of talent and leadership at the Citrus Bowl. With the countdown for Harbaugh’s second season underway, we prepared a short list of trivia and other interesting bits of history for Wolverine Fans (and those who love a Wolverine Fan).
- The Michigan Wolverines will open the 2016 season against Hawaii. This is the first meeting between the teams since 1998.
- Coach Harbaugh, who is starting his second season as head coach, played quarterback for the University of Michigan from 1983-86 — his jersey was No. 4. Follow Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) on Twitter.
- U-M had one of the top recruitment classes in the country this year. Rashan Gary, the nation’s top recruit for 2016, led an all-star class of 28 student-athletes who announced they’d be wearing Maize and Blue this season.
