Last year’s football season lived up to the hype. With the countdown for Harbaugh’s second season underway, we prepared a short list of trivia and other interesting bits of history for Wolverine Fans (and those who love a Wolverine Fan).

  • The Michigan Wolverines will open the 2016 season against Hawaii. This is the first meeting between the teams since 1998.
  • Coach Harbaugh, who is starting his second season as head coach, played quarterback for the University of Michigan from 1983-86 — his jersey was No. 4. Follow Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) on Twitter.
  • U-M had one of the top recruitment classes in the country this year. Rashan Gary, the nation’s top recruit for 2016, led an all-star class of 28 student-athletes who announced they’d be wearing Maize and Blue this season.
