Fool Moon, in partnership with the Grand Rapids Public Museum, will take place on Saturday, September 28th, starting at dusk (approx 7:30pm).
Artists, gawkers, street performers, yaks, and roving musicians are encouraged to meet up on the south lawn of the Grand Rapids Public Museum by 7:30pm on Saturday, September 28th. A beautiful, multitude of hand-made illuminated lantern sculptures, performers, and musicians will then head towards downtown Grand Rapids returning to the Grand Rapids Public Museum by 8:30pm.
FoolMoon is destined to become one of Grand Rapid’s most unique public art events bringing the entire community together to help create an evening of moonlit beauty, spectacle, and celebration.
This sublime moonlit event will feature a fantastic procession of hand-made illuminated sculptures carried by dancing teams of merrymakers as they thread their way through downtown Grand Rapids. Pageant participants and revelers alike can follow the FoolMoon Processional to the afterglow party on the south lawn of Grand Rapids Public Museum. Delicious treats and spirits plus a unique roving shadow-puppet performance, experimental wall-sized video game, club dancing to DJ Scout, and more! Guaranteed to be a sizzler under the stars!
