This weekend, Thursday, May 11-Saturday, May 13, Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan will host the 2017 Big Ten Softball Tournament.
The 12-team, single-elimination tournament will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday with four first-round games involving the teams seeded fifth through 12th. The top four seeds received first-round byes and will open play in Friday's quarterfinal games starting at 11 a.m. The first semifinal will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the second semifinal following at approximately 3:30 p.m. First pitch for Saturday's Big Ten Tournament championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. The tournament champion will earn the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
The University of Michigan softball program earned the No. 2 seed for the 2017 Big Ten Softball Tournament and will open play at 4:30 p.m. on Friday (May 12) against the winner of the Michigan State/Indiana first-round matchup, the league office announced Monday (May 8). The Wolverines will host the conference tournament Thursday through Saturday (May 11-13) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field.
