October 2018 Event Roundup

Sep 28, 2018

I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” - L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Well Anne, we couldn’t agree more. In the Ann Arbor area, October means cider and donuts and apple picking, and it means hot coffee and cooler temperatures and brightly colored leaves. This year, there are plenty of events happening throughout the month that will get you out and about and enjoying all that Washtenaw County has to offer during this gorgeous autumn month.

Be sure to follow Destination Ann Arbor on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest for tons of travel information and area updates.

Sweet Charity

October 11 - 21

Presented by the renowned Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan, this whimsical musical comedy debuted in 1966 and showcases the romantic adventures of a dance hall-hostess, Charity Hope Valentine. Featuring distinctive choreography and favorite songs such as “Big Spender”, “The Rhythm of Life” and others, Sweet Charity reminds us to be generous with what he have, no matter how little that may be.

Smoke & Ale Fall Festival

October 12-13

This annual tradition in Chelsea features BBQ, beer, and plenty of live music and entertainment. Register ahead of time to take part in the Cornhole Classic tournament, or just show up and enjoy tunes from the Metro Soul Band, Billy Mack & The Juke Joint Junkies, and others. Don’t forget to bring your kiddos - there will be a Kid Zone just for them.

October 26
