The Saline Main Street WinterFest
Held in various locations in downtown Saline on January 27, 2018, the Saline Main Street WinterFest has a variety of activites including snowman-building, ice-skating, a 5K run, ice-carving, kids’ games and crafts, various winter sports, and more. The event takes place in a four-block area of downtown Saline and includes indoor and outdoor activities for people of all ages.
Snow Much Fun in Ypsilanti Township
With Michigan’s rolling terrain and ample amounts of snowfall, Rolling Hills County Park is great place for cross country skiing and sledding. The park features a sledding hill, three miles of groomed cross country ski trails and a half mile of cleared walking trails. The Snow Much Fun event on January 27, 2018 offers a petting zoo, face-painting, cross country skiing, sledding, crafts and hot cocoa.
Curling Fest 2018 in Chelsea
Curling Fest 2018 is a 2-day event in Chelsea featuring a tournament on Saturday, February 10 for both experienced and novice competitors, and learn-to-curl ice time on February 9, 2018. Watch the bonspiel (term for curling tournament) free of charge or stop by Friday night for great winter fun. Enjoy music, beer, food, hot cocoa, and more in a heated tent on both days.
Ice Carving Festival in Ann Arbor
The Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting the third-annual Ice Carving Festival. Students from colleges and university around Southeast Michigan will carve sculptures from blocks of ice using chainsaws and flamethrowers. The public will vote on their favorites and enjoy beverages and children activities. This family-friendly festival features kids’ crafts, a hot chocolate warming station, and more. The event will be held at County Farm Park at 2230 Platt Road, Ann Arbor on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Milan Let’s Chill Winter Fest
The annual Let's Chill Winter Fest in Milan features activities for individuals of all ages. The winter festival spans the downtown shopping area, Wilson Park and Edgetown. Activities include a chili cook-off, a Wine Walk, indoor and outdoor winter games, ice carving, an Artisan tent, food, and much more. Free shuttle service will run between all major event areas and parking lots, making it easily accessible for everyone. Warming stations in the downtown area and a large bonfire in Wilson Park will provide warmth and ambiance. The festival is on February 2 and 3, 2018.
