Ann Arbor Blues Festival

Jul 30, 2018

Fun fact: Ann Arbor hosted the very first electric Blues Festival ever. Literally, ever. Pretty cool, huh?

The year was 1969, and the lineup was iconic - with B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Big Mama Thornton, among others. Now, almost 50 years later, executive producer James Partridge is gearing up for an impressive anniversary celebration in 2019. But don’t count out 2018 yet - the Blues Festival will be grooving with Ana Popovic, Shemekia Copeland, the Bob Margolin Trio, Benny Turner and others.

University of Michigan alum Rebecca Lerner writes for Forbes, and produced THIS beautiful article telling the story of the Ann Arbor Blues Festival and its remarkable comeback. Read all about it!

The 2018 celebration will be held on August 17-19 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Fairgrounds. Tickets are available HERE. See you at the Ann Arbor Blues Festival!
