Independence Lake County Park offers swimming, boating and fishing, picnicking, hiking, biking and rollerblading in a natural setting.
During Summer months, Independence Lake features a spray zone water playground (open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day), 192-acre natural lake, sandy beach, row boat rentals, boat launching area, fishing (wheelchair accessible pier), picnic area and pavilions, children's play areas, walking trails, observation tower, interpretive signs, natural areas and nature programs, concessions, and restrooms.
Winter activities include ice-fishing, snowshoeing, and groomed cross-country ski trails.
Other park activities include hiking nature trails through diverse habitat including wetlands, prairies and great stands of oaks. Pre-arranged nature programs or Guided interpretive tours are available with one of the Park Naturalists. Two miles of paved multiuse trails are provided for walkers, runners, bikers or rollerbladers.
Park entry fee of $9 for non-residents.
